CVE-2025-38001 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net_sched: hfsc: Address reentrant enqueue adding class to eltree twice Savino says: "We are writing to report that this recent patch (141d34391abbb315d68556b7c67ad97885407547) [1] can be bypassed, and a UAF can still occur when HFSC is utilized with NETEM. The patch only checks the cl->cl_nactive field to determine whether it is the first insertion or not [2], but this field is only incremented by init_vf [3]. By using HFSC_RSC (which uses init_ed) [4], it is possible to bypass the check and insert the class twice in the eltree. Under normal conditions, this would lead to an infinite loop in hfsc_dequeue for the reasons we already explained in this report [5]. However, if TBF is added as root qdisc and it is configured with a very low rate, it can be utilized to prevent packets from being dequeued. This behavior can be exploited to perform subsequent insertions in the HFSC eltree and cause a UAF." To fix both the UAF and the infinite loop, with netem as an hfsc child, check explicitly in hfsc_enqueue whether the class is already in the eltree whenever the HFSC_RSC flag is set. CVE-2025-21971 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net_sched: Prevent creation of classes with TC_H_ROOT The function qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog() uses TC_H_ROOT as a termination condition when traversing up the qdisc tree to update parent backlog counters. However, if a class is created with classid TC_H_ROOT, the traversal terminates prematurely at this class instead of reaching the actual root qdisc, causing parent statistics to be incorrectly maintained. In case of DRR, this could lead to a crash as reported by Mingi Cho. Prevent the creation of any Qdisc class with classid TC_H_ROOT (0xFFFFFFFF) across all qdisc types, as suggested by Jamal.
CVE-2025-21850 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: Fix crash when a namespace is disabled The namespace percpu counter protects pending I/O, and we can only safely diable the namespace once the counter drop to zero. Otherwise we end up with a crash when running blktests/nvme/058 (eg for loop transport): [ 2352.930426] [ T53909] Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000005: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN PTI [ 2352.930431] [ T53909] KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000028-0x000000000000002f] [ 2352.930434] [ T53909] CPU: 3 UID: 0 PID: 53909 Comm: kworker/u16:5 Tainted: G W 6.13.0-rc6 #232 [ 2352.930438] [ T53909] Tainted: [W]=WARN [ 2352.930440] [ T53909] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.3-3.fc41 04/01/2014 [ 2352.930443] [ T53909] Workqueue: nvmet-wq nvme_loop_execute_work [nvme_loop] [ 2352.930449] [ T53909] RIP: 0010:blkcg_set_ioprio+0x44/0x180 as the queue is already torn down when calling submit_bio(); So we need to init the percpu counter in nvmet_ns_enable(), and wait for it to drop to zero in nvmet_ns_disable() to avoid having I/O pending after the namespace has been disabled.
CVE-2026-64474 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio: prevent infinite loop in vfio_mig_get_next_state() on blocked arc vfio_mig_get_next_state() walks vfio_from_fsm_table[] one step at a time, looping to skip optional states the device does not support until *next_fsm is supported. A blocked transition is encoded as VFIO_DEVICE_STATE_ERROR, which the trailing return reports as -EINVAL. The skip loop does not account for the ERROR sentinel. state_flags_table[ERROR] is ~0U and vfio_from_fsm_table[ERROR][*] is ERROR, so once *next_fsm becomes ERROR the loop condition stays true and *next_fsm never changes. The blocked arcs STOP_COPY -> PRE_COPY and STOP_COPY -> PRE_COPY_P2P map to ERROR yet pass the support check on a precopy-capable device, causing the loop to spin forever while holding the driver state mutex. This can result in a soft lockup, and a panic with softlockup_panic set. Terminate the skip loop on the ERROR sentinel so a blocked transition falls through to the existing return and reports -EINVAL.
CVE-2026-59901 2026-07-29 7.5 High
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. Prior to versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, the `Bzip2Decoder` handler in Netty's compression codec pipeline is vulnerable to a denial-of-service attack through a malformed bzip2 stream that permanently captures the event-loop thread in an infinite loop. The vulnerability exists in the run-length encoding (RLE) state machine within [`Bzip2BlockDecompressor.read()`]. This issue has been fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.
CVE-2026-14258 2 Dhcpcd Project, Redhat 2 Dhcpcd, Enterprise Linux 2026-07-29 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in dhcpcd's IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Router Advertisement processing. A specially crafted IPv6 Router Advertisement containing a zero-length Neighbor Discovery option can bypass validation during packet storage and later be reparsed without adequate validation, causing the parser to enter a non-advancing loop. Successful exploitation may result in excessive CPU consumption, leading to a denial of service.
CVE-2026-67213 1 Nanoid Project 1 Nanoid 2026-07-29 5.9 Medium
nanoid (Nano ID) before 5.1.6 contains an infinite loop in the customAlphabet and customRandom functions. When these functions are configured with a size of 0, the internal generation loop never satisfies its exit condition and spins indefinitely, hanging the calling thread. An application that passes an unvalidated, attacker-controlled size of 0 to these functions is exposed to a denial-of-service condition.
CVE-2026-67214 1 Nanoid Project 1 Nanoid 2026-07-29 5.9 Medium
nanoid (Nano ID) before 5.1.16 contains an infinite loop in the customAlphabet and nanoid functions of its non-secure module (nanoid/non-secure). When these functions are given a negative size, the loop counter is decremented from a negative value and never reaches its termination condition, spinning indefinitely and hanging the calling thread. An application that passes an unvalidated, attacker-controlled negative size to these functions is exposed to a denial-of-service condition.
CVE-2026-62642 1 Roundcube 1 Webmail 2026-07-29 4.3 Medium
In Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.17 and 1.7.x before 1.7.2, an infinite loop was discovered in the TNEF decoder, which may lead to denial of service upon opening an email with a TNEF attachment.
CVE-2026-59933 1 Phpoffice 1 Phpspreadsheet 2026-07-28 7.5 High
PhpSpreadsheet is a pure PHP library for reading and writing spreadsheet files. In versions 4.0.0 through 5.8.0, 3.3.0 through 3.10.6, 2.2.0 through 2.4.6, 2.0.0 through 2.1.17, and all releases up to and including 1.30.5, the OLE reader follows sector chains from attacker-controlled XLS/OLE metadata without detecting cycles or enforcing a maximum chain length. A tiny malformed .xls/OLE file can set the small-block depot sector chain to point back to itself. During normal XLS detection, OLERead::read() appends the same sector data repeatedly until the PHP process exhausts memory. This is reachable from Reader\Xls::canRead() and therefore from automatic spreadsheet type detection. Applications that accept attacker-controlled spreadsheet uploads can suffer denial of service from a very small file. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.8.1, 3.10.7, 2.4.7, 2.1.18 and 1.30.6.
CVE-2026-45820 1 101arrowz 1 Fflate 2026-07-28 N/A
fflate through 0.8.2 is vulnerable to denial of service via an infinite loop in unzipSync(). A crafted ZIP archive with a central directory entry declaring compressed_size=0xFFFFFFFF (ZIP64 sentinel) but missing the required ZIP64 extra field tag 0x0001 causes z64e() to loop indefinitely due to out-of-bounds reads returning undefined, which coerces to 0, keeping the loop condition permanently true.
CVE-2026-64537 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-28 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: cfm: reject invalid CCM interval at configuration time ccm_tx_work_expired() re-arms itself via queue_delayed_work() using the configured exp_interval converted by interval_to_us(). When exp_interval is BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_NONE or out of range, interval_to_us() returns 0, causing the worker to fire immediately in a tight loop that allocates skbs until OOM. Fix this by validating exp_interval at configuration time: - Constrain IFLA_BRIDGE_CFM_CC_CONFIG_EXP_INTERVAL to the valid range [BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_3_3_MS, BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_10_MIN] in the netlink policy so userspace cannot set an invalid value. - Reject starting CCM TX in br_cfm_cc_ccm_tx() when exp_interval has not yet been configured (defaults to 0 from kzalloc).
CVE-2026-10683 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-07-28 2.4 Low
In the Synopsys DesignWare I2C driver (drivers/i2c/i2c_dw.c) operating in target/slave mode, the rx_full interrupt handler gates the write_requested() callback on dw->state != CMD_SEND, and dw->state is only reset to READY on a STOP interrupt. The START_DET interrupt, whose handler in i2c_dw_slave_read_clear_intr_bits() would reset the state on every (re)START, was never added to the enabled interrupt mask in i2c_dw_slave_register(), so that recovery path was dead code. As a result, if the STOP interrupt is lost (bus glitch/reset, or a concurrent master driving STOP) or the bus master issues a legal WRITE-repeated-START-WRITE sequence with the same direction, the driver remains in CMD_SEND permanently and never invokes write_requested() again for the life of the target. An I2C master on the same physical bus can deliberately trigger this, causing the I2C target function to malfunction for all subsequent write transactions and desynchronizing consumer framing state (e.g. MCTP-over-I2C), a recoverable-by-reset denial of service of the target peripheral. The fix unmasks START_DET so the state is reset at every bus (re)START. Impact is availability-only over a local board-level bus; no memory corruption results in the in-tree consumer, whose per-byte buffer write is independently bounds-checked.
CVE-2025-71397 1 Surrealdb 1 Surrealdb 2026-07-28 N/A
SurrealDB before 2.0.5, 2.1.x before 2.1.5, and 2.2.x before 2.2.2 allows authenticated users with OWNER or EDITOR permissions (at the root, namespace, or database level) to define custom database functions via DEFINE FUNCTION using nested FOR loops. Although a single loop's iteration count is constrained, nesting multiple loops (e.g., each with 1,000,000 iterations) is not, so an attacker can execute a function that consumes all server CPU time. Configured timeouts do not stop the execution, rendering the server unresponsive to other queries and connections until it is manually restarted.
CVE-2026-64834 1 Ffmpeg 1 Ffmpeg 2026-07-28 7.5 High
FFmpeg versions 0.6.3 through 8.1.2 contain an infinite loop vulnerability in the RTP/ASF demuxer within libavformat/rtpdec_asf.c that allows remote attackers to cause denial of service by sending a crafted RTP/ASF stream. The rtp_asf_fix_header function fails to validate a minimum chunksize when iterating over ASF objects, causing the loop pointer to never advance when a chunksize is smaller than the 24-byte minimum ASF object header size, resulting in CPU exhaustion that denies service to legitimate users.
CVE-2026-47180 1 Python-zeroconf 1 Python-zeroconf 2026-07-27 6.5 Medium
Zeroconf is a pure Python implementation of multicast DNS service discovery. Prior to 0.149.5, DNSIncoming._decode_labels_at_offset recurses once per DNS-name compression pointer, and a single mDNS packet carrying chained pointers can trigger a RecursionError that escapes DNSIncoming.__init__, causing sustained CPU burn, log flooding, and degraded mDNS-dependent features for unauthenticated hosts on the local link over UDP/5353 (224.0.0.251 / ff02::fb). This issue is fixed in version 0.149.5.
CVE-2026-59849 2 Libssh, Redhat 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more 2026-07-27 3.1 Low
A flaw was found in libssh. Logic errors in automatic certificate-based public key authentication can cause libssh clients to loop indefinitely when configured certificates are missing or repeatedly rejected by a server, leading to denial of service.
CVE-2026-16551 1 Thinkst Applied Research 1 Opencanary 2026-07-27 N/A
Denial-of-Service in Thinkst Applied Research OpenCanary (MongoDB module) allows Excessive Allocation. This issue affects OpenCanary 0.9.8 only.
CVE-2026-63890 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-27 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: fcoe: Reject FIP descriptors with zero fip_dlen in CVL walker drivers/scsi/fcoe/fcoe_ctlr.c::fcoe_ctlr_recv_clr_vlink() advanced the descriptor cursor by an attacker-supplied fip_dlen without ever requiring dlen >= sizeof(struct fip_desc) in the default branch. The named descriptor cases (FIP_DT_MAC, FIP_DT_NAME, FIP_DT_VN_ID) checked their per-type minimum lengths, but a FIP_DT_NON_CRITICAL descriptor (fip_dtype >= 128, which the standard requires receivers to silently ignore) skipped that check entirely. An unauthenticated L2 peer on the FCoE control VLAN could hang fcoe_ctlr_recv_work on an fcoe, qedf, or bnx2fc initiator indefinitely by emitting one FIP CVL frame whose single descriptor had fip_dtype == FIP_DT_NON_CRITICAL and fip_dlen == 0: the cursor advanced zero bytes per iteration and the loop condition rlen >= sizeof(*desc) stayed true forever, blocking every subsequent FIP frame on that controller. Tighten the outer dlen guard to also reject dlen < sizeof(struct fip_desc), so a malformed descriptor whose length cannot even cover the descriptor header is rejected before the switch. This is the same lower-bound the named cases already apply and is the minimum scope that closes the loop.
CVE-2026-50251 1 Nlnetlabs 1 Unbound 2026-07-27 5.3 Medium
In NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.1, when 'unwanted-reply-threshold' is enabled (set to any value greater than zero), glue records of 0.0.0.0/::0 can short-circuit Unbound, on systems that can direct such traffic, by issuing DNS queries and receiving seemingly unwanted replies since the remote IP does not match the original source IP of 0.0.0.0/::0. This behavior keeps on looping for the glue records and pushing the counter to the configured 'unwanted-reply-threshold' that triggers a defensive cache clear. A malicious actor who controls a delegation that returns in-bailiwick glue of 0.0.0.0/::0 can drive the counter to the limit of 'unwanted-reply-threshold' to the threshold and trigger a cache clean of the message and rrset caches; at will, indefinitely, without sending a single spoofed packet. The iterator uses the 0.0.0.0/::0 glue, and a system that can route this (e.g., Linux kernel routes the datagram over loopback), Unbound's own listener answers from 127.0.0.1. Because of the mismatch of 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1, in this example, Unbound accounts the reply as an unwanted (probably spoofed) answer. The counter resets to zero on every cache flush, so the attack loops forever.
