CVSS v3.1 |
| A vulnerability was identified in Linux Kernel up to 4.19.316/5.4.278/5.10.220/5.15.161. This impacts the function tcp_getsockopt/tcp_setsockopt of the component TCP Handler. Such manipulation leads to race condition. A high complexity level is associated with this attack. The exploitability is said to be difficult. The vulnerability was introduced in 2.6.12, commit 1da177e4c3f41524e886b7f1b8a0c1fc7321cac2 ("Linux-2.6.12-rc2"). Upgrading to version 4.19.317, 5.4.279, 5.10.221, 5.15.162 and 6.1 will fix this issue. The name of the patch is fcd31dd8291b23d713245947ec2b2d99ef07aef2/3b32f265805a49071e2c4568a524398ba22bf93c/d529193eae979a7bf2255cd9fe68b7af7a1c91b3/5bb642cc3355ffd3c8bca0a8bd8e6e65bcc2091c/f49cd2f4d6170d27a2c61f1fecb03d8a70c91f57. The affected component should be upgraded. |
| A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel up to 5.10.162/5.15.85/6.0.15/6.1.1. The impacted element is the function btf_dump_name_dups of the file tools/lib/bpf/btf_dump.c of the component libbpf. The manipulation leads to use after free. Upgrading to version 5.10.163, 5.15.86, 6.0.16, 6.1.2 and 6.2 is sufficient to resolve this issue. The identifier of the patch is c61650b869e0b6fb0c0a28ed42d928eea969afc8/fbe08093fb2334549859829ef81d42570812597d/8c64a8e76eb85d422af5ec60ccbf26e3ead8c333/a733bf10198eb5bb927890940de8ab457491ed3b/93c660ca40b5d2f7c1b1626e955a8e9fa30e0749. You should upgrade the affected component. |
| A vulnerability was identified in Linux Kernel 33fc42de33278b2b3ec6f3390512987bc29a62b7. This affects the function __mtk_ppe_check_skb of the file drivers/net/ethernet/mediatek/mtk_ppe.c of the component Ethernet Handler. Such manipulation leads to use after free. The name of the patch is 17a5f6a78dc7b8db385de346092d7d9f9dc24df6. It is best practice to apply a patch to resolve this issue. No released Linux Kernel version was ever affected by this CVE. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
riscv: Fix register corruption from uninitialized cregs on error
compat_riscv_gpr_set() calls cregs_to_regs() unconditionally, even when
user_regset_copyin() fails. Since cregs is an uninitialized stack
variable, a copyin failure causes uninitialized stack data to be written
into the target task's pt_regs, corrupting its register state and
potentially leaking kernel stack contents.
compat_restore_sigcontext() has the same issue: it calls cregs_to_regs()
even when __copy_from_user() fails, leading to the same corruption of
the signal-returning task's register state on error.
Only call cregs_to_regs() when the user copy succeeds. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
atm: clip: Fix infinite recursive call of clip_push().
syzbot reported the splat below. [0]
This happens if we call ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) more than once.
During the first call, clip_mkip() sets clip_push() to vcc->push(),
and the second call copies it to clip_vcc->old_push().
Later, when the socket is close()d, vcc_destroy_socket() passes
NULL skb to clip_push(), which calls clip_vcc->old_push(),
triggering the infinite recursion.
Let's prevent the second ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) by checking
vcc->user_back, which is allocated by the first call as clip_vcc.
Note also that we use lock_sock() to prevent racy calls.

smb: client: reject userspace cifs.spnego descriptions
cifs.spnego key descriptions contain authority-bearing fields such as
pid, uid, creduid, and upcall_target that cifs.upcall treats as
kernel-originating inputs. However, userspace can also create keys of
this type through request_key(2) or add_key(2), allowing those fields to
be supplied without CIFS origin.
Only accept cifs.spnego descriptions while CIFS is using its private
spnego_cred to request the key. |

drm/i915/gt: fix refcount underflow in intel_engine_park_heartbeat
A use-after-free / refcount underflow is possible when the heartbeat
worker and intel_engine_park_heartbeat() race to release the same
engine->heartbeat.systole request.
The heartbeat worker reads engine->heartbeat.systole and calls
i915_request_put() on it when the request is complete, but clears
the pointer in a separate, non-atomic step. Concurrently, a request
retirement on another CPU can drop the engine wakeref to zero, triggering
__engine_park() -> intel_engine_park_heartbeat(). If the heartbeat
timer is pending at that point, cancel_delayed_work() returns true and
intel_engine_park_heartbeat() reads the stale non-NULL systole pointer
and calls i915_request_put() on it again, causing a refcount underflow:

Fix this by replacing the non-atomic pointer read + separate clear with
xchg() in both racing paths. xchg() is a single indivisible hardware
instruction that atomically reads the old pointer and writes NULL. This
guarantees only one of the two concurrent callers obtains the non-NULL
pointer and performs the put, the other gets NULL and skips it.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: skbuff: preserve shared-frag marker during coalescing
skb_try_coalesce() can attach paged frags from @from to @to. If @from
has SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG set, the resulting @to skb can contain the same
externally-owned or page-cache-backed frags, but the shared-frag marker
is currently lost.
That breaks the invariant relied on by later in-place writers. In
particular, ESP input checks skb_has_shared_frag() before deciding
whether an uncloned nonlinear skb can skip skb_cow_data(). If TCP
receive coalescing has moved shared frags into an unmarked skb, ESP can
see skb_has_shared_frag() as false and decrypt in place over page-cache
backed frags.
Propagate SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG when skb_try_coalesce() transfers paged
frags. The tailroom copy path does not need the marker because it copies
bytes into @to's linear data rather than transferring frag descriptors. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
EFI/CPER: don't go past the ARM processor CPER record buffer
There's a logic inside GHES/CPER to detect if the section_length
is too small, but it doesn't detect if it is too big.
Currently, if the firmware receives an ARM processor CPER record
stating that a section length is big, kernel will blindly trust
section_length, producing a very long dump. For instance, a 67
bytes record with ERR_INFO_NUM set 46198 and section length
set to 854918320 would dump a lot of data going a way past the
firmware memory-mapped area.
Fix it by adding a logic to prevent it to go past the buffer
if ERR_INFO_NUM is too big, making it report instead:

| Integer underflow in the e1000_clean_rx_irq function in drivers/net/e1000/e1000_main.c in the e1000 driver in the Linux kernel before 2.6.30-rc8, the e1000e driver in the Linux kernel, and Intel Wired Ethernet (aka e1000) before 7.5.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (panic) via a crafted frame size. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in the parse_tag_11_packet function in fs/ecryptfs/keystore.c in the eCryptfs subsystem in the Linux kernel before 2.6.30.4 allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain privileges via vectors involving a crafted eCryptfs file, related to not ensuring that the key signature length in a Tag 11 packet is compatible with the key signature buffer size. |
| The init_posix_timers function in kernel/posix-timers.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.31-rc6 allows local users to cause a denial of service (OOPS) or possibly gain privileges via a CLOCK_MONOTONIC_RAW clock_nanosleep call that triggers a NULL pointer dereference. |
| cfg80211 in net/wireless/scan.c in the Linux kernel 2.6.30-rc1 and other versions before 2.6.31-rc6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a sequence of beacon frames in which one frame omits an SSID Information Element (IE) and the subsequent frame contains an SSID IE, which triggers a NULL pointer dereference in the cmp_ies function. NOTE: a potential weakness in the is_mesh function was also addressed, but the relevant condition did not exist in the code, so it is not a vulnerability. |
| The do_sigaltstack function in kernel/signal.c in Linux kernel 2.4 through 2.4.37 and 2.6 before 2.6.31-rc5, when running on 64-bit systems, does not clear certain padding bytes from a structure, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information from the kernel stack via the sigaltstack function. |
| The get_instantiation_keyring function in security/keys/keyctl.c in the KEYS subsystem in the Linux kernel before 2.6.32-rc5 does not properly maintain the reference count of a keyring, which allows local users to gain privileges or cause a denial of service (OOPS) via vectors involving calls to this function without specifying a keyring by ID, as demonstrated by a series of keyctl request2 and keyctl list commands. |
| Buffer overflow in the RTL8169 NIC driver (drivers/net/r8169.c) in the Linux kernel before 2.6.30 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (kernel memory corruption and crash) via a long packet. |
| The do_mremap function for the mremap system call in Linux 2.2 to 2.2.25, 2.4 to 2.4.24, and 2.6 to 2.6.2, does not properly check the return value from the do_munmap function when the maximum number of VMA descriptors is exceeded, which allows local users to gain root privileges, a different vulnerability than CAN-2003-0985. |
| bt_sock_recvmsg in net/bluetooth/af_bluetooth.c in the Linux kernel through 6.6.8 has a use-after-free because of a bt_sock_ioctl race condition. |
| In the Linux kernel through 6.9, an untrusted hypervisor can inject virtual interrupts 0 and 14 at any point in time and can trigger the SIGFPE signal handler in userspace applications. This affects AMD SEV-SNP and AMD SEV-ES. |

The problem can be reproduced with the mmtests config
config-workload-stressng-mmap. It does not always happen and when it
triggers is variable but it has happened on multiple machines.
The intent of commit b653db77350c patch was to avoid the case where
PG_private is clear but folio->private is not-NULL. However, THP tail
pages uses page->private for "swp_entry_t if folio_test_swapcache()" as
stated in the documentation for struct folio. This patch only clobbers
page->private for tail pages if the head page was not in swapcache and
warns once if page->private had an unexpected value. |
