| CVE-2026-5946 | 2 Isc, Redhat | 3 Bind, Bind 9, Hummingbird | 2026-05-21 | 7.5 High |
| Multiple flaws have been identified in `named` related to the handling of DNS messages whose CLASS is not Internet (`IN`) — for example, `CHAOS` or `HESIOD`, or DNS messages that specify meta-classes (`ANY` or `NONE`) in the question section. Specially crafted requests reaching the affected code paths — recursion, dynamic updates (`UPDATE`), zone change notifications (`NOTIFY`), or processing of `IN`-specific record types in non-`IN` data — can cause assertion failures in `named`. This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.11.0 through 9.16.50, 9.18.0 through 9.18.48, 9.20.0 through 9.20.22, 9.21.0 through 9.21.21, 9.11.3-S1 through 9.16.50-S1, 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.48-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.22-S1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-31438 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-05-19 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix kernel BUG in netfs_limit_iter() for ITER_KVEC iterators When a process crashes and the kernel writes a core dump to a 9P filesystem, __kernel_write() creates an ITER_KVEC iterator. This iterator reaches netfs_limit_iter() via netfs_unbuffered_write(), which only handles ITER_FOLIOQ, ITER_BVEC and ITER_XARRAY iterator types, hitting the BUG() for any other type. Fix this by adding netfs_limit_kvec() following the same pattern as netfs_limit_bvec(), since both kvec and bvec are simple segment arrays with pointer and length fields. Dispatch it from netfs_limit_iter() when the iterator type is ITER_KVEC. | ||||

| CVE-2026-43306 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-05-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: crypto: Use the correct destructor kfunc type With CONFIG_CFI enabled, the kernel strictly enforces that indirect function calls use a function pointer type that matches the target function. I ran into the following type mismatch when running BPF self-tests: CFI failure at bpf_obj_free_fields+0x190/0x238 (target: bpf_crypto_ctx_release+0x0/0x94; expected type: 0xa488ebfc) Internal error: Oops - CFI: 00000000f2008228 [#1] SMP ... As bpf_crypto_ctx_release() is also used in BPF programs and using a void pointer as the argument would make the verifier unhappy, add a simple stub function with the correct type and register it as the destructor kfunc instead. | ||||
| CVE-2026-6732 | 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft | 8 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird and 5 more | 2026-05-15 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libxml2. This vulnerability occurs when the library processes a specially crafted XML Schema Definition (XSD) validated document that includes an internal entity reference. An attacker could exploit this by providing a malicious document, leading to a type confusion error that causes the application to crash. This results in a denial of service (DoS), making the affected system or application unavailable. | ||||

| CVE-2026-22795 | 1 Openssl | 1 Openssl | 2026-05-12 | 5.5 Medium |
| Issue summary: An invalid or NULL pointer dereference can happen in an application processing a malformed PKCS#12 file. Impact summary: An application processing a malformed PKCS#12 file can be caused to dereference an invalid or NULL pointer on memory read, resulting in a Denial of Service. A type confusion vulnerability exists in PKCS#12 parsing code where an ASN1_TYPE union member is accessed without first validating the type, causing an invalid pointer read. The location is constrained to a 1-byte address space, meaning any attempted pointer manipulation can only target addresses between 0x00 and 0xFF. This range corresponds to the zero page, which is unmapped on most modern operating systems and will reliably result in a crash, leading only to a Denial of Service. Exploiting this issue also requires a user or application to process a maliciously crafted PKCS#12 file. It is uncommon to accept untrusted PKCS#12 files in applications as they are usually used to store private keys which are trusted by definition. For these reasons, the issue was assessed as Low severity. The FIPS modules in 3.5, 3.4, 3.3 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue, as the PKCS12 implementation is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. OpenSSL 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.0 and 1.1.1 are vulnerable to this issue. OpenSSL 1.0.2 is not affected by this issue. | ||||
| CVE-2025-69420 | 1 Openssl | 1 Openssl | 2026-05-12 | 7.5 High |
| Issue summary: A type confusion vulnerability exists in the TimeStamp Response verification code where an ASN1_TYPE union member is accessed without first validating the type, causing an invalid or NULL pointer dereference when processing a malformed TimeStamp Response file. Impact summary: An application calling TS_RESP_verify_response() with a malformed TimeStamp Response can be caused to dereference an invalid or NULL pointer when reading, resulting in a Denial of Service. The functions ossl_ess_get_signing_cert() and ossl_ess_get_signing_cert_v2() access the signing cert attribute value without validating its type. When the type is not V_ASN1_SEQUENCE, this results in accessing invalid memory through the ASN1_TYPE union, causing a crash. Exploiting this vulnerability requires an attacker to provide a malformed TimeStamp Response to an application that verifies timestamp responses. The TimeStamp protocol (RFC 3161) is not widely used and the impact of the exploit is just a Denial of Service. For these reasons the issue was assessed as Low severity. The FIPS modules in 3.5, 3.4, 3.3 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue, as the TimeStamp Response implementation is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. OpenSSL 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.0 and 1.1.1 are vulnerable to this issue. OpenSSL 1.0.2 is not affected by this issue. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hfsplus: pretend special inodes as regular files Since commit af153bb63a33 ("vfs: catch invalid modes in may_open()") requires any inode be one of S_IFDIR/S_IFLNK/S_IFREG/S_IFCHR/S_IFBLK/ S_IFIFO/S_IFSOCK type, use S_IFREG for special inodes. | ||||
| CVE-2026-43038 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-05-08 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: icmp: clear skb2->cb[] in ip6_err_gen_icmpv6_unreach() Sashiko AI-review observed: In ip6_err_gen_icmpv6_unreach(), the skb is an outer IPv4 ICMP error packet where its cb contains an IPv4 inet_skb_parm. When skb is cloned into skb2 and passed to icmp6_send(), it uses IP6CB(skb2). IP6CB interprets the IPv4 inet_skb_parm as an inet6_skb_parm. The cipso offset in inet_skb_parm.opt directly overlaps with dsthao in inet6_skb_parm at offset 18. If an attacker sends a forged ICMPv4 error with a CIPSO IP option, dsthao would be a non-zero offset. Inside icmp6_send(), mip6_addr_swap() is called and uses ipv6_find_tlv(skb, opt->dsthao, IPV6_TLV_HAO). This would scan the inner, attacker-controlled IPv6 packet starting at that offset, potentially returning a fake TLV without checking if the remaining packet length can hold the full 18-byte struct ipv6_destopt_hao. Could mip6_addr_swap() then perform a 16-byte swap that extends past the end of the packet data into skb_shared_info? Should the cb array also be cleared in ip6_err_gen_icmpv6_unreach() and ip6ip6_err() to prevent this? This patch implements the first suggestion. I am not sure if ip6ip6_err() needs to be changed. A separate patch would be better anyway. | ||||
