CVSS v3.1 |
| CVE-2026-40952 is a privilege misconfiguration
in the Secure Access installer for the Windows client and server prior to
version 14.55. Attackers with local access to the client or server can use it
to elevate privileges to Administrator when Secure Access is installed in a
non-default location. |
| A flaw was found in firewalld. A local unprivileged user can exploit this vulnerability by mis-authorizing two runtime D-Bus (Desktop Bus) setters, setZoneSettings2 and setPolicySettings. This mis-authorization allows the user to modify the runtime firewall state without proper authentication, leading to unauthorized changes in network security configurations. |
| Overly permissive file permissions in AWS CLI before 1.44.78 (v1) and 2.34.29 (v2) on Unix-like systems where the umask has not been configured to restrict file permissions (the default on most systems) may allow other local users on the same host to read credentials written by certain CLI subcommands (aws codeartifact login, aws iam create-virtual-mfa-device, aws deploy register).
To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to AWS CLI 1.44.78 (v1) or 2.34.29 (v2) or later. |
| Nixpkgs is a collection of software packages that can be installed with the Nix package manager. Prior to the 25.11 and 26.05 channel fixes, the NixOS module for MySQL services.mysql initializes the MySQL database in a way that allows local users, such as unprivileged web or CGI processes on the same host, to log in as the root user without a password when the service is used with mysql or percona-server. This issue is fixed in the 25.11 and 26.05. |
| A permissions issue was addressed with additional restrictions. This issue is fixed in macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.6. A malicious app may be able to gain root privileges. |

| In versions before 7.0.0.64, IDrive’s id_service.exe process runs with elevated privileges and regularly reads from several files under the C:\ProgramData\IDrive\ directory. The UTF16-LE encoded contents of these files are used as arguments for starting a process, but they can be edited by any standard user logged into the system. An attacker can overwrite or edit the files to specify a path to an arbitrary executable, which will then be executed by the id_service.exe process with SYSTEM privileges. |
| SurrealDB before 2.1.4 silently fails to overwrite table definitions when the DEFINE TABLE ... OVERWRITE clause is used on tables defined with TYPE RELATION. Because table definitions include the PERMISSIONS clause, an attempt to tighten a table's permissions via OVERWRITE does not take effect, and the administrator may incorrectly believe the change was applied. As a result, a client authorized to run queries may continue to access data in that table that the updated (but unapplied) permissions were intended to restrict. |
| SurrealDB before 1.0.1 sets default table permissions to FULL instead of NONE, allowing SELECT, CREATE, UPDATE, and DELETE operations on tables without explicit permissions. Attackers with database access or unauthenticated users on publicly exposed instances can perform unrestricted operations on unprotected tables within their authorization scope. |
| Splinterware System Scheduler Pro 5.12 contains an insecure file permissions vulnerability that allows low-privilege users to escalate privileges by modifying service executable files. Attackers can rename the WService.exe file in the installation directory and replace it with a malicious executable that executes with LocalSystem privileges when the service is triggered. |
| ZKTeco ZKBioSecurity 3.0 contains a file path manipulation vulnerability that allows attackers to access arbitrary files by modifying file paths used to retrieve local resources. Attackers can manipulate path parameters to bypass access controls and retrieve sensitive information including configuration files, source code, and protected application resources. |
| A potential insecure permissions vulnerability was reported in Legion Zone and the Lenovo App Store Windows applications, distributed exclusively in the Chinese market, that when installed on a non‑system partition, could allow a local user to execute arbitrary code. |
| NoteGen before 0.32.0 grants the Tauri shell plugin shell:allow-execute capability for bash, python, and python3 with arbitrary arguments in the default desktop capabilities. JavaScript running in the application webview can therefore invoke plugin:shell|execute to run attacker-controlled operating system commands with the privileges of the NoteGen process. In combination with script execution in the webview (for example via chat XSS), this enables full remote code execution on the user's machine. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb/client: fix chown/chgrp with SMB3 POSIX Extensions
Ownership (chown) and group (chgrp) modifications were being ignored when
mounting with SMB3 POSIX Extensions unless CIFS_MOUNT_CIFS_ACL or
CIFS_MOUNT_MODE_FROM_SID were also explicitly set.
Fix this by checking for posix_extensions in cifs_setattr_nounix() when
updating UID and GID, ensuring that id_mode_to_cifs_acl() is called to map
and set the ownership/group information on the server. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: run set info with opener credentials
SMB2 SET_INFO handlers call path-based VFS helpers after checking the
access mask granted to the SMB handle. Those helpers perform their owner,
inode permission and LSM checks using the current ksmbd worker credentials.
Run the complete SET_INFO dispatch with the credentials captured when the
handle was opened. This also removes the separate security information
credential setup and keeps all SET_INFO classes under one credential scope.
Direct override_creds() is used because it can nest with the request
credential overrides already used by rename and link helpers. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: use opener credentials for delete-on-close
Delete-on-close can be completed by deferred or durable handle teardown,
where no request work is available. Both the base-file unlink and the ADS
xattr removal consequently run with the ksmbd worker credentials and can
bypass filesystem permission checks.
Run both operations with the credentials captured in struct file when the
handle was opened. This preserves the authenticated user's fsuid, fsgid,
supplementary groups and capability restrictions at final close. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: mask server-provided mode to 07777 in modefromsid
When modefromsid is active, parse_dacl() applies the server-provided
sub_auth[2] value from the NFS mode SID to cf_mode without masking to
07777. Apply the correct masking, same as in the read path. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in Mendix Runtime (All versions). Mendix documentation for access rules does not adequately describe the special behavior of the System.User entity, leaving developers without sufficient guidance to configure access rules securely. This documentation gap may lead application developers to unknowingly apply overly permissive access rules to System.User, resulting in unintended exposure of sensitive user data or privilege escalation within deployed Mendix applications. |
| The user-controllable executable files will be directly executed by high-privilege processes, allowing low-privilege users to have the opportunity to elevate their privileges to NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. |
| Privilege escalation in the DOM: Navigation component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 153 and Thunderbird 153. |
